This morning I woke up after sleeping 14 hours straight and was completely confused. “Where am I?” I thought. “This bed is really comfortable!” O, it felt so good after traveling for 24 hours with maybe 2 hours of sleep. I’m so glad to be home! I definitely have reverse culture shock, though not in a bad sort of way. I’m just seeing everything in a new light. Having strawberries for breakfast was wonderful. Going to Wendy’s today with my dad and hearing everyone speaking English around me was so interesting! I’m just observing everything and moving a bit in slow motion.
I already got emails from 4 of my KIA students. I miss them already! It was very hard to say good-bye to all of them on Monday. It was especially hard to say good-bye to Mr. Pye. He’s been such a great friend and mentor for me- I’ve been so blessed to know him! I’ve learned so much, I know it will take a long time to process everything. I’m ok with that, though. I want to learn and process it well.
I’m home with my family in VA for a couple days, then flying back to Columbia on Friday. I can’t wait to see everyone there, especially my amazing fiancé!
Thank you all so much for reading my blog and experiencing the adventure with me! I’ve had a lot of fun writing and explaining what I’ve been doing and learning. Now I’m moving on to a new and even more exciting adventure!! If you want to hear more about that, you can go to www.mywedding.com/timandlaurel. I’ll be putting more pictures up there after July 11th. :)
